CFA meeting minutes
January 16th 2017
Present: Kathleen, Don, Steve, Peggy
Minutes of last meeting: Motion to approve meeting minutes of Nov. 2016 by Kathleen, Steve 2nd. All approved and passed
Treasurer report: Kathleen explained a few of the items on the treasurer’s report. Particularly, our budget vs. our actual spending and revenue. There were some surprises. Our cider revenue was down from what was budgeted, but honey revenue was more. We were in the black thanks to Margy’s donation. We anticipate having less expenses this coming year, not having to pay a farmers market manager. Bank balances were not available at this time.
Motion to approve treasurer’s report: Steve, 2nd Peggy, all approved and passed.
Community Garden Don at our retreat agreed to be a limited Garden manager. He suggested a look at the website to see what our current policies are. And to create some new policies and get it on the website. So when we announce changes to the garden we can drive people to the website and everything will be there That way we are not duplicating our efforts. There was nothing new to report. For an in depth discussion of the garden changes, please see retreat notes.
Farmers Market Peggy agreed to take a look at the current policies for the Farmers Market on the website. To make changes discussed at the retreat. She will also meet with Ali prior to making those changes to simplify the language and make it more clear and friendly. those changes will be track and sent to Steve.
Munch Night Or next Munch Night is February 17th with Jen ? from the Mushroomery giving the talk.
Don will create a poster for the CFA email list and for putting out around town. Our theme for food that night will be roasted root vegetables, some mushroom themed dishes, salad and bread.
Alternative film nights
After our discussion at our retreat around themes for Munch Night, to have shorter films and time for more discussion, we have decided to hold another monthly film event tentatively called Salon Film Night. It would be held in community room. There would be food, no charge and they can provide their own snacks.
