Our Mission
To encourage healthy living and community resilience through education and the promotion of sustainable food production.
Building community one bite at a time!
What We Do
The Calapooia Food Alliance (CFA) is a nonprofit responsible for community services such as Munch Night (third Friday at the Brownsville American Legion), Brownsville's beautiful Community Garden (located at 185 Main) and the Brownsville Thursday market (May-October). At Munch Night we provide a community gathering full of food, educational presentations and engaging conversation regarding current topics having to do with the environment, health and wellness, food among others. Our community garden provides fresh and affordable produce for the local community and educates about gardening, nature and cooking. At our Thursday afternoon Market you'll find local producers connecting with community while selling their goods ranging from plant starts, veggies, fruit, flowers, eggs, meat, baked goods, beauty products, wooden furniture and more. Join us in our mission to promote sustainable living and community engagement, one bite at a time.
